Match needed for current grant

QSpeak Theatre has received a matching grant from the Mukti Fund in Key West, Florida. We have received $5,000 and can receive $5,000 more if we can raise our own $5,000. We need your help to do this! That’s only 50 people donating $100! Or 100 people donating $50! Any amount will help us reach our goal – and our deadline is coming up in December so please help us out quickly!

To make your donation, please contact Amber Hope at a.hope@phoenixtheatre.com or 602-889-5296.

QSpeak Theatre hosts “Moment Work” Workshop

During the weekend of October 23, 24 & 25 members of QSpeak Theatre and Greasepaint Youtheatre participated in a workshop facilitated by Kelli Simpkins, a member of the Tectonic Theater Project in New York City.  Young people ages 14-22 worked together to learn the basics of “Moment Work”, the play development method used at Tectonic Theater Project developed by Moises Kaufman.  Our young theatre artists gained valuable insight into play creation and development and will continue to work with the ideas and experiences of this workshop throughout their own rehearsal process for THE LARAMIE PROJECT, to be produced by QSpeak Theatre in collaboration with Greasepaint Youtheatre March 5-14, 2010.  The weekend workshop and production of THE LARAMIE PROJECT are made possible thanks to a generous matching grant from the Mukti Queer Youth Theatre Fund in Florida.

To contribute to our matching grant or for more information about upcoming workshops and auditions, please contact the Phoenix Theatre Director of Education and QSpeak Theatre founder,
