Amanda received her MFA in Dramatic Writing from Arizona State University in May 2018. She received her BAs in English Literature and Political Science from Arizona State University in 2015. As an instructor and faculty associate at ASU, Amanda created and taught a unique seminar on contemporary musical theatre, partnering with ASU Gammage and the touring companies of Waitress and Dear Evan Hansen. She has also taught screenwriting and dramatic theory. Amanda worked as a dramaturg for Southwest Shakespeare Company's productions of Romeo and Juliet and Sense and Sensibility, and was the research and dramaturgy assistant on Oregon Shakespeare Festival's Romeo and Juliet for the 2017-2018 season. Her plays and musicals include: Til Death(book and lyrics), which debuted at the Kerr Cultural Center in the ASU Lyric Opera Theatre’s new works series; Forget Me Not (Pandora Festival of New Works/Arizona Women's Theatre Company); City of Ladies (semi-finalist for the Bridge Initiative Playwright of the Year). Her upcoming projects include a pop-rock adaptation of Jane Austen's Persuasion and Andromeda Girls, a musical about science-minded girls in the 1960s.As a freelance writer, Amanda has bylines on BroadwayWorld (where she is also an album critic), Slate, HowlRound, ThoughtCo, Popsugar, and more.
