Summer Camp Accommodation Specialist

Fixed salary: $440 per week

Seasonal: June 3rd to August 2nd (Week off July 1st to 5th)

Reports to: Assistant Camp Director, Camp Director

We are currently seeking Accommodation Specialists for the summer of 2019. We are excited about another fun-filled summer, and are currently seeking enthusiastic and energetic individuals for these positions.

Job Summary

The Phoenix Theatre Company Summer Camp and Master Classes are proud to be an inclusive learning environment. In partnership with Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center (SARRC), our Accommodation Specialists receive specialized training prior to the start of camp. This training provides our employees with the ability to confidently assist students (with or without a specific diagnosis) in the classroom.

We are happy to announce the expansion of our accommodation abilities to additional age groups this year, which means were are looking to hire more hands! Accommodation Specialists are assigned to up to two campers per week between the ages of 7 and 17 who require assistance in the classroom. When there is a student who requires hands on accommodations, the Accommodation Specialist is there to be a resource for the student. When there is not a student with these needs, the Accommodation Specialist fills in in classrooms that require more classroom management, assisting campers who may be experiencing challenges.

Essential Duties & responsibilities

  • Assisting Students Requiring Accommodations
  • Participating in all class activities as a leader

minimum Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years old
  • Able to commit to the eight weeks camp is offered
  • Available for Training Prior to Start of Camp
  • Experience Working with Children
  • Experience in the Arts
