Next Stages is a new online-only theatre education program for kids and teens. Some of the most beloved teaching artists in The Phoenix Theatre Company family are teaching dance, puppetry and more all virtually and all for your kiddos!

Chanel Bragg

Local credits: Effie White in Dreamgirls, Medda Larkin in Newsies,Alma Hicks in The Music Man, Joanne in Rent, Dorothy in the Wiz. Ruth in A Raisin in the Sun, Mrs. Mueller in Doubt, and many more. Chanel can be seen traveling locally with Menopause the Musical as the “Power Woman”. Let's Get Loud
What's more fun than finding music in the world around you?! In this class, students learn how to use found objects and their own bodies to create rythyms and make their own songs!

Wiggle, Giggle, Dance!
We all need time to get out our giggles and wiggles! Join our teaching artist for 55 minutes of silly dance fun to your favorite songs.

Actor's Tool Box
Using a special technique of teaching young students, the actor's toolbox introduces unique ways of accessing voice, body, imagination, concentration and cooperation. Students will have a blast playing through various introductory games and using imagination play.

Rock Dance Party
Designed with YOUR living room in mind, hook up your computer and let us have a silly rock dance party with your students! We're ready to bring the silly and fun to your home! (Silly outfits encouraged.)
 

Trisha Ditsworth

Trisha Ditsworth is a local professional musical theatre artist and director who also teaches private voice and acting lessons. She has her BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Arizona. Most recently she played the role of Maria in The Phoenix Theatre Company’s production of The Sound of Music. Other favorite roles include: Mary Poppins (Mary Poppins), Sister Mary Robert (Sister Act), Fanny Brice (Funny Girl), Johanna (Sweeney Todd), Martha (The Secret Garden), Percy (The Spitfire Grill), Penny (Hairspray), Pickles (Trailer Park), Annabel (Lucky Stiff), Sarah (The Toxic Avenger), Catherine (Pippin), and Enid (Legally Blonde). She has lived and worked out of New York and Chicago but now resides in Phoenix. She has worked at Regional Theatres all over the United States including Bucks County Playhouse, The Palace Theatre, Round Barn Theatre, Fireside Theatre, Hunterdon Hills Playhouse, and Butte Opera House. Here in Arizona she has had the pleasure to work for The Phoenix Theatre Company, Arizona Broadway Theatre, Childsplay, Showtune Productions, TAD Management, and Lonely Street Productions. Michelle Chin

Recent TPTC credits include: You Can’t Say That! (Director), Once (Girl), Airness (“The Nina”), and The Curious Incident... (Voice 5). Other TPTC credits include: Godspell (“Day by Day” Soloist), Hand to God (with SCT, Jessica/Jolene), Hedwig and the Angry Inch (Shlatko/Drums), and Bullets Over Broadway (Olive)Other recent credits include: Ella Enchanted (Ella), The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane (Assistant Director, Childsplay) and Cabaret (Sally Bowles, Fort Peck Summer Theatre). Michelle is also a teaching artist and enjoys making art and music throughout the Valley and around the world. Goodnight Moon Puppet Playtime
Using the magic of puppets, actor and teacher Michelle Chin will take your child on a ride through the story "Goodnight Moon"-- all while engaging them by creating their own easy puppets to follow along with.​​​​​​​

Puppet Adventures

Puppetry Part 1
Feeling lonely in quarantine? This course will teach you how to create a puppet that can keep you entertained for hours! Using just a sock as a base and lots of creativity you can create a unique puppet character all your own.​​​​​​​

Puppetry Part 2
Puppetry ignites your imagination and challenges your dexterity. A continuation of Puppetry Part 1, this course focuses on Jim Henson puppetry techniques and teaches you how to animate your hand to bring life to sock puppets and foam mouth style puppets.​​​​​​​

Stuffed Animal Puppetry
Want to have even more fun at your next stuffed animal tea party? Learn how puppetry can bring your favorite stuffed friends to life and ignite your imagination!
 

Lynzee Foreman

Lynzee is thrilled to be teaching online classes with Next Stages!  Lynzee was last seen  at PT as Loraine in Jersey Boys and as her self in GODSPELL and prior to that at Arizona Broadway Theatre in Addams Family as Alice ,HAIR as Jeanie. Some of her favorite roles include: Lina Lamont in Singin in the rain, Pippi in Trailer Park the musical ( both at ABT) as well as Daniela in In The Heights at Phoenix Theatre. When not performing herself she is blessed to work with the Valleys Best youth talent at ABT in the HyRev Program and somehow finds time to ride her reining horses and be the Co-Owner for a brand new Tribute Concert and company , Brock Pro Entertainment  The MOST love to her family and her hubby,Mark and Princess Shiloh .This one is for you Den.

Alexia Lorch

Alexia Lorch, local Phoenician Actor and Teaching Artist, has taught and choreographed for youth all across the Valley and in Iowa. Alexia graduated from Creighton University where she learned to teach the Royal Academy of Dance training style to youth and young dancers. She is excited to be part of the team bringing these classes to you online.

Sibling Stardom
Love putting on shows for your family? Have a sibling to use as a costar? Let us be your director and choreographer! During a week of hour long classes, we'll direct a short musical for you to perform for your family on Friday!

Sussan Sanchez

Sussan Sanchez is proud to be working at the Phoenix Theatre Company again after assisting in the Summer Camp 4-6 classroom for the past 3 summers. She has six years of musical theatre experience and she is delighted to make her debut in teaching the joys of bringing stories to life in her Storytime Tea Class.
