This summer’s Next Stages offerings have been cultivated for campers based on expressed interest as well as curriculum that best functions in the virtual environment. Self-Tape Audition How To's

JUNE 7 - JUNE 11
Monday – Friday       10:00AM – 3:00PM       Ages: 13 – 17       $200

Auditioning via video or in a virtual environment is becoming more and more common. Students will learn tips and tricks for selecting appropriate repertoire, how to properly frame and set up their equipment to record, where to place their focus for the most captivating performance on screen, and will attend a virtual mock audition. With the expert guidance of our teaching artists, at the end of one week students will have a virtual audition package that is ready to submit!

CAMERA READY! BEGINNING ACTING FOR TV AND FILM (VIRTUAL)

JUNE 14 - JUNE 18
Monday – Friday       10:00AM – 3:00PM       Ages: 8 – 17       $175

Camera Ready! as a distance learning option! This class is a student favorite and focuses on all the skills needed to be successful in the performing arts:  improvisation, public speaking, body language, memorization techniques, and more. Students learn the basics of on camera acting, how to get a talent agent, develop audition techniques, and better understand the business of TV, film, and stage. They present what they have learned on the last day of class with family and friends in a streamed sharing.

JUNE 21 - JUNE 25

The course focuses on the creative process and teaches you how to do it all – write, direct, and act! Engaging the creative mind and imagination, students collaborate with one another to take on the role of playwright, director, and actor. Throughout the week students will work together to write, direct, and act in scenes which will be presented in a streamed sharing on Friday.

JUNE 28 - JULY 2
Monday – Friday       10:00AM – 3:00PM       Ages: 13 – 17       $200

VIDEOGRAPHY 101

JULY 5 - JULY 9
Monday – Friday       10:00AM – 3:00PM       Ages: 13 – 17       $200

Do you want to put together a reel of songs you’ve performed, a music video, or a music montage featuring your favorite pictures? This class will teach you the basics of videography to be able to best record and/or edit a creative film project and bring your ideas to life on film! This class will also touch on the basics of audio editing to pair with your video creations. Students will get be able to best follow along and participate in this course with access to GarageBand and iMovie – free on all Apple devices.

Using a book or story as source material, students are challenged to think of what happened before the story we all know, what happens after, or what the show would be like from a different character’s perspective. Students will collaborate to write and rehearse a short play based on a pre-existing story. By the end of the week the students will act out the brand new show they have written in a streamed sharing for friends and family!
